Private Education Act

With the implementation of the Private Education Act in December 2009, a Council for Private Education (CPE) are the Regulator and developer of the private education industry. it was set up to Assess private education institutions for registration and EduTrust certification, as well as promotes the growth and development of the private education industry. All Private Education Institutes (PEIs) are required to comply with the regulations under the new Act on order to operate.

EduTrust

In August 2010, ERCI is proud to be amongst the first batch of Private Education Institutions to achieve full (4 year) Edutrust certification. ERCI has achieved the full (4 years) EduTrust Certification for maintaining robust academic systems and processes, and upholding quality standards in its delivery of programmes. For Institutions to be awarded with Edutrust, they must be assessed on the following:

1. Management commitment and responsibilities
2. Corporate governance and administration
3. External recruitment agents
4. Student protection and support services
5. Academic processes and assessment of students

ERCI is the 9th PEI in Singapore that has become EduTrust certified. To put that achievement into perspective, there were more than 1,200 PEIs in Singapore last year. The EduTrust certification effectively replaces its CaseTrust and Singapore Quality Class (SQC) certifications, as a pre-requisite which PEIs must meet in order to enroll international students, as stipulated by the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA)
