Master of Business Administration (Enterpreneurial Management)


Overview

This MBA offered by Entrepreneurship Institute of Australia (EIA) is designed for those who want to be best prepared for the future. Designed for aspiring and existing entrepreneurs, and corporate intrapreneurs, the programme offers a broad spectrum of knowledge to handle management issues. From business modeling to venture creation and strategic marketing, the course assists the business- minded individual in obtaining the best in a very dynamic and increasingly competitive market environment. ERC Institute (ERCI) and Entrepreneurship Institute Australia (EIA) combine sound business fundamentals with action-oriented learning to increase the speed and practicality of learning through entrepreneurial management assignments. The programme combines the convenience of directed reading, intensive workshops, and the interaction of participants and faculty. The programme can be completed over a short period of 12 months. This programme meets the needs of working adults expecting flexible schedules and quick course completion.

Accreditation

EIA is accredited by the South Australian Government within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) which guarantees academic rigour and very high standards. The AQF provides a nationally consistent framework for all qualifications issued by higher education institutions including universities. EIA is based in Adelaide, South Australia.

Course Design and Content

The course covers 12 essential entrepreneurial knowledge tools in the modules shown below conducted in a modular course structure. Each module involves the presentation of a body of knowledge by faculty with substantial entrepreneurial and managerial experience and is completed within one month. The learning approach uses lectures, video presentations, case studies, group discussions, business games, role plays and directed reading.

Course Design & Content

  • Entrepreneurship

    The objective of the module is to provide participants with an in-depth knowledge of the concept of entrepreneurship.


  • Strategic Human Resource Management

    The module is designed to provide participants with an understanding of the formal relationship between employer and employee and of the techniques and methods aimed at making the relationship more effective so that organizational goals and objectives are achieved.


  • New Venture Creation

    This module features the process of creating successfully new ventures, including evaluating opportunities, designing strategies, forming the entrepreneurial team and developing strategies for financing.


  • Entrepreneurship & Globalisation

    Designed to expand participants’ understanding of the role of entrepreneurs in global business development, this module will also examine issues in operating across international borders in a global context.


  • Franchising

    Participants will be provided with the concepts, dimensions and processes of franchising and licensing.


  • Leadership

    Participants will be provided with a systematic study of how individuals and groups behave within an organizational setting and the impact of leadership on this behavior.


  • Strategic Management

    The aim of the module is to provide the participants with a thorough knowledge of the principles and practice of corporate strategy formulation built around a systematic approach to strategic management.


  • Strategic Marketing

    This module is designed to provide participants with an in-depth knowledge if the marketing concept and the major principles, techniques and theories relating to the strategic practice of marketing.


  • Strategic Legal & Social Issues

    The objective of this module is to provide the participants with an awareness and understanding of the critical legal issues that relate to an organization, thus enhancing the formulation and implementation of strategies for the organization.


  • Strategic Operations Issues

    The aim of this module is to provide participants with an in-depth knowledge of strategic operations issues that are critical for the operations of an organization.


  • Strategic Finance Issues

    The module is designed to prepare participants for effective and efficient planning and management of financial and resource requirements and targets.


  • Entrepreneurial Project

    Participants will research an area of entrepreneurial management applying reflection and analysis to demonstrate learning gained from an organization.


Delivery Mode

This programme is available on both full-time & part-time mode. The course consists of 12 modules and can be completed in 12 months.

January / April / July / October

Assessment

For each module, participants will complete an assignment and an examination. For the Entrepreneurial Project, the participants will complete an assignment comprising a real-life entrepreneurial or entrepreneurial venture whereby skills gained during the specialised programme will be utilised to undertake a hands-on research with a new business enterprise or an existing workplace.

Entry Requirements

For the admission into the 12 module programme, applicants normally have:

  • An acceptable bachelor degree or a relevant professional qualification conducted at a standard equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and access to a workplace or projects which could be the basis of their entrepreneurial assignments and projects.
  • Adequate proficiency in English, for example IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 550. If students do not meet the English requirements, they are required to pass the EIA qualifying test.
  • Applicants not having an acceptable bachelor degree or equivalent do have a pathway to the MBA on a stage-by-stage basis if they successfully complete the 4-module Graduate Certificate in Management, followed by the 4-module Graduate Diploma in Management and finally the 4-module MBA stage of the course.
  • They may enrol in the Graduate Certificate in Management course provided they have: completed a qualification deemed equivalent to an Advanced Diploma under the Australian Qualifications Framework or are able to demonstrate that they have equivalent experience and learning (for example, in the form of ranking or seniority in their organisation) or have specialised professional or technical qualifications or such other qualifications as are deemed acceptable to EIA; at least five years’ significant work experience;
  • Access to a workplace or projects which could be the basis of their entrepreneurial assignments and project.
